NRHS WINS MUSIC FESTVAL SWEEPSTAKES AWARDS

The NRHS A Cappella group "Blended Melodies" and the NRHS Jazz Band have been named Sweepstakes winners by Music Showcase Festivals for 2017.  The Sweepstakes award is given by the Music Showcase Festivals organization to the year's highest scoring music groups at each of their festival locations. All five of Newfound's performing ensembles attended one of the Music Showcase Festivals at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson NJ in May.  At the end of the festival season, the Music Showcase Festivals organization determined that of the three festivals that were held at Great Adventure in 2017, that the Newfound Jazz Band and A Cappella Choir were the highest scoring instrumental and choral groups of all three Great Adventure festivals.  The addition of these two awards brings to 13 the number of awards that were presented to Newfound for their performances at the Jackson, NJ festival.  In an email to Mr. Edward Judd, Music Director at NRHS, Ron Simmons, Executive Director of Music Showcase Festivals said " I know your school community, parents, and administration will all be proud of your ensemble's accomplishments. I know you are proud of your students as well"
