Project Promise at New Hampton Community School is a fun, educational after school program offered to elementary aged students. Each afternoon, participants are engaged in activities that promote teamwork, cooperative learning, and self-growth. The staff at NHCS Project Promise provide a safe and secure environment where students are able to explore ideas and interests. Academic learning, physical and nutritional health, and global awareness are focus areas and key components when planning activities for our students.
Academic support and enrichment are important aspects of our daily homework club. Students discover that they are readers, writers, scientists, and mathematicians. Clubs are another platform for students to discover and explore interests. Some of our weekly clubs include: Build-it, Drawing, Soccer, Field Hockey, Technology, and Arts and Crafts. Clubs are planned and developed from student voice and choices, and run during a six to eight week period.
Program Schedule (Monday-Thursday):
2:00-2:40-Snack and Recess
3:45-5:00 Daily Clubs
5:00-5:15-Team Building Activities
5:15-Clean-up and Cool down
